In the world, copper mining is mainly done in the western shores of South America, in Northern Chile, in the south-west of USA in North America and in west Canada, in Congo, Zaire, North Rhodesia in Africa; in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India in Asia; in certain regions of Europe, and; in Olympic Dam in Australia and in Bougainville in Papua New Guinea.
There are major copper deposits in Turkey which are actively operated. Particularly, the Black Sea and South-eastern Anatolia are the two main regions where copper mining is intense. As Eti Bakir Co., we produce copper from our pits in Kure and Murgul and then enrich it at our flotation facilities to produce copper concentrates.
The produced copper concentrates are then transported to Inebolu and Hopa Ports for shipment. Our copper concentrate production volume is 170.000 mt per year in our Kure plant and 130.000 mt per year in our Murgul plant.
