HALIKÖY PLANT
1870 to Present
The Haliköy Plant, which used to produce mercury in ancient times and began producing antimony in the 1800s, was acquired by Cengiz Holding in 2007. Thanks to its ability to form compounds with many metallic elements, antimony is used in various industries, ranging from the defense industry (such as the production of artillery shells, gun cores, and gunpowder) to brake pads, aircraft tires, and glass and porcelain manufacturing. Producing 1,100 tons of antimony concentrate annually from ores extracted through underground mining, the plant employs a workforce of 200.
Emirli Antimony Mine has made significant contributions to the economy of the region with its rich history and high production capacity from past to present.
