HALIKÖY PLANT

1870 to Present

Halıköy Plant, which used to produce mercury in ancient times and started producing antimony in the 1800s, was acquired by Cengiz Holding in 2007. Thanks to its ability to form compounds with many metallic elements, antimony is used in many areas of the industrial sector, from the defense industry (such as production of artillery shells, gun cores and gunpowder) to brake pads, aircraft tires, glass and porcelain production. Producing 14,500 tons of antimony concentrate every year from ores extracted through underground mining, the plant has a workforce of 182 employees.

Emirli Antimony Mine has made significant contributions to the economy of the region with its rich history and high production capacity from past to present.
