Cengiz Holding manages its international partnerships in full compliance with all the required international standards. Considered to be a pilot project by the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, the forestation of the site and surrounding area of the closed mine at Eti Bakır A.Ş. Küre is just one example of the Company’s awareness of this issue. The Group goes beyond meeting current requirements in its power plant operations, continually investing in eco-friendly technologies and even anticipating potential changes to EU regulations.
1,800,000 m2 of space was rehabilitated at Eti Bakır A.Ş., Samsun, Küre and Murgul facilities and 250,000 trees were planted at a cost of USD 3 million. At the Samsun facilities, waste gas was reduced to below one third of the reference value and gas emission is now 99.5% restrainable.
Furthermore, an investment of USD 29.3 million was made by Eti Bakır A.Ş. in a sulphuric acid facility to be used while producing fertilizer and to reduce gas emissions. Cengiz Holding works in line with international environmental standards and invests in green technologies.
